After Paul Frankl, Pair of Pretzel Club Chairs and Ottoman

1940s, Tochiku Industry Co., Japan, including a pair of club chairs (32 x 31.5 x 32 in.), with a square base ottoman (13 x 21 x 21 in. with cushion), appears unmarked. Purchased in Tokyo after WWII by a state department employee who brought it back to the states with her when she returned home in the late 1940s.

The chairs with a weathered grey surface; later white fabric covering the original cushions with some staining; the chairs feel structurally sound; the ottoman base appears to have been recently refinished.
