BIOGRAPHY:
Andre Andreoli was born in Amsterdam. His artistic legacy is as great as his spiritual one. Andre was widely considered the world's foremost painter of 19th Century Dutch romantic landscapes. One of Europe's foremost art experts and critics said "Andreoli may very well be the only artist today that still paints with the skill and talent of the 19th Century Dutch romantic masters like W. Koekkoek and Eversen. He truly paints in the best of the 19th Century tradition and I would not know of any artist that could compare with his skill." Andre was self-taught. His teachers were the great Dutch landscape painters he studied in the museums of his native Holland. "The museums became my art academy, " he said. "Learning the ways of those masters with a magnifying glass was my instructor, along with practice, determination and discipline." The hallmark of Andre's landscapes was his expertise with light. Golden rays filtering through wind swept clouds, reflecting off the endless Dutch meadows and ancient buildings. True to his heritage, Andre was also a master of Italian facades. Of the hundreds of facades he painted perhaps the three most interesting were his final three. They were painted in the last months of his life, in the hospital as he battled to stay alive.
