Description
Frank Sinatra Signed 1948 "Your Hit Parade" Radio Show Script W/(2) COAs - This is a complete original radio script for the Oct. 9, 1948 episode of "Your Hit Parade", signed by "Old Blue Eyes" himself, Frank Sinatra. This was the show that launched his career when he first appeared as the star vocalist and this 19 page script provides a unique and historic look into the start of his meteoric rise to fame. Sinatra has boldly signed the cover sheet in black ink, below the show date and above the "Hair of Gold, Eyes of Blue" song title featured in "Commercial No. 1". The script shows that he had a sizeable role in that night's broadcast, including dialogue, for songs and commercials. "Your Hit Parade", also known as "The Hit Parade", was sponsored by The American Tobacco Company (Lucky Strike Cigarettes), and 1948 saw the continuing transition from big bands to individual singers. An 8 x 10 black and white photo of Sinatra performing on the radio is included with this lot. In fine overall condition for a 74 year old script. The lot includes a certificate of authenticity from Roger Epperson and a second COA from Hakes. This is an extremely rare and interesting look at the start of Frank Sinatra's monumental career.
