Item Details

Description

This is a fantastic looking antique German stein, appearing to be from the First World War. Along the top reads "Hoch lebe der kaiser und leine reservisten" or "Long live the emperor and leash reservists" it seems, forgive the Google translation if incorrect. The pewter lid features a sailor holding a flag and holding a picture of possibly Prince Wilhem. The body is various activities from a sailor and a lady, sailors in a pub, below reading "My service time", last panel is sailors near a canon with SMS Blitz in the background. The handle is a figural sailor and thumb lift is an eagle. It is marked only 6190 and 30, both impressed in base and stands approx 14" tall. Attributed to Marzi & Remy. Rare piece.
