A Chinese jade-inlaid hardwood table panel
A carved hardwood frame and panel centering a carved jade in the form of intertwining dragons.
H: 5 5/8, W: 4, D: 2 1/4 in. (H: 14.29, W: 10.16, D: 5.7 cm. (overall))
Provenance: Private collection, Washington DC. The collector's father in law (Nelson T Johnson) was sent to China by the US State Department in 1906 and served as the US ambassador to the Republic of China from 1935 to 1941. After he left China, he became an ambassador to Australia.
