For your consideration is a custom genuine leather briefcase by the renowned Edward H. Bohlin, out of Hollywood, California. Edward Bohlin and his carefully selected team of leather and silversmiths were known to craft the world’s finest saddles and leather tack. Ed was born in Sweden in 1895, and he ran away to America at the young age of 15. Ed had dreams of Buffalo Bill Cody's Wild West in his head, and when he arrived state side, he got a job working cattle drives in Montana, and later he opened his first saddle shop in Cody, Wyoming. Ed would often stand in front of his shop, performing rope tricks to entice cliental. Bohlin met a man named Tom Mix while performing at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. Mix convinced Ed to stay in Hollywood to produce his fine saddles, eventually to serve patrons such as Mae West, Hopalong Cassidy, Monte Hale, Lyndon Johnson, and Ronald Reagan. Under Ed's watchful eye, "The Edward H. Bohlin Company" operated from the early 1920s, through the 1980s, eventually operating under different ownership. The satchel is marked with a leather badge on the front flap reading "Edward H. Bohlin - Saddle Makers Silversmiths - Hollywood, California - since 1920" This satchel offers plenty of storage space with numerous compartments inside to store your belongings. It has a detachable divider in the main compartment which allows you to open up even more space for larger items if you please. This satchel features adjustable leather buckles on the front to latch it closed and a nice leather handle on top for easy carrying. If a handle is not your style, included in the satchel is the original, adjustable, over the shoulder strap. The back offers another zip compartment for even more paper or file storage. The bag is in good condition with wear from its vintage age and previous use. Both leather buckles on the front flap latch and unlatch with ease, and the handle on top is sturdy and strong.
