Antique c1920s Mennonite Water Wheel Quilt Measuring about 44 x 63". Information attached states the quilt originated from a Ashfield, Massachusetts farmhouse where a woman pieced quilts from 1910-1915 and quilted it in the 1930s. All the fabrics are very soft wool. Each of the half square triangles measure about 4.5x4.5 inches. There is a 1 1/2 inch caramel colored inner border and a 3 1/2 inch black outer border. It is machine pieced and hand quilted. There is a thin batting and a dark cotton solid backing, possibly home dyed. It is in good condition. With one small spot, and a few very small moth holes in the binding.
