Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong Mille Fleur Zun Vase. Potted in a shaped vase, thick and large, globular body, slighty oval body, rounded shoulder concealing gracefully to a prominent straight cylindrical neck, wide flaring open lip, emerging two flowers bloom flanked on the shoulder, raised with short splayed foot base rim and slightly concave. The Mille Fleur decoration, meaning the thousand flowers design first appears in the late Yongzheng period becoming extremely popular in the Qianlong and was carried on throughout the subsequent Jiaqing and DaoGuang periods, usually on a gilt ground. The dense millefleurs design features naturalistic blossoming peonies, chrysanthemums, hibiscus, morning glories, roses, lotus flowers, daisies, lilies and pinks amidst an abundance of foliage, the mouth rims with gilt bands, the bases and interiors often turquoise-enamelled on older pieces. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed red script characters reign mark. Made in The Years QianLong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
