An interesting study group of 2 chopping tools from 2 distinctly different cultures. First is a Luristan cast-bronze axe head with a drooping blade, a sturdy neck, and a cylindrical socketing shaft for attaching to a wooden pole. Next is a hand-carved Eastern Woodlands stone celt with a petaloid body, convex faces, a sharpened blade edge, and a conical butt end. Size (celt): 6.4" L x 2.125" W (16.3 cm x 5.4 cm); (axe head): 3.875" L x 1.1" W x 2.2" H (9.8 cm x 2.8 cm x 5.6 cm)

Axe head has small nicks, light abrasions, chipping and minor indentations to blade head commensurate with use, and nice patina. Stone celt is intact and excellent with nice surface smoothness.
