Northern Europe, Scandinavia, Viking or Norse culture, ca. 8th to 10th century CE; Western Europe, Medieval Period, ca. 11th to 12th century CE. A trio of forged iron boot spurs with pointed spikes. The first spur is of a semicircular design with ringed attachment loops and a pair of projecting pricks. The remaining spurs have curved side bars and have 2 strap slits on each loop; the Medieval spur has a baluster-shaped spike, and the largest Viking spur has a pyramidal spike. Size of largest (pyramidal spike): 4.5" L x 4.1" W (11.4 cm x 10.4 cm)
Provenance: private Denver, Colorado, USA collection, acquired in the 1960's

Condition
