Description
Lot of autographs from various artists, entertainers, world leaders and others, including: a menu, 8 x 10.5 in., for a dinner given to honor the actor JOSEPH JEFFERSON (1829-1905), signed by him beneath a mounted portrait. The verso features the signature of artist HOWARD CHANDLER CHRISTY (1872-1952) just above a hand-drawn sketch of his creation the ‘Christy Girl’. Two unidentified signatures also appear on the verso. With an ink sketch, 5.5 x 8.5 in., by LISL WEIL (1910-2006) showing a waiter and his dinner guest, inscribed in German: ‘He always knows what everyone wants to eat’ and signed at top right. With nine signatures on verso, including psychotherapist ALFRED ADLER (1870-1937), Austrian President WILHELM MIKLAS (1872-1956), philosopher HANS KELSEN (1881-1973), philosopher CHARLES MILLS (1951-2021), and others. Two pieces, very good.
