ERNST ROHM (1887 - 1934) Nazi Brownshirt who organized, trained and headed the SA, a friend of Hitler who was at his side in the 1923 Beer Hall Putsch, later set up and executed by Hitler following their disagreement on the use of the two million-strong SA. Typed D.S. 'Rohm' in indelible pencil on NSDAP letterhead, 1p. 8vo., Munich, Mar. 25, 1931, to the Organization Department and Reichs Treasurer transmitting a document 'for circulation with request to take note'. Endorsed as 'noted', dated April 4, 1931, and signed by GREGOR STRASSER (1892-1934), a fellow Nazi whose energy, skill and oratory powers led to his leadership of Hitler's Reich Organization and service as propaganda chief of the N.S.D.A.P. Like Rohm, he too was killed in the purges of the 'Night of the Long Knives'. Closed file holes at left, light toning, else very good. A rare combination of signatures.
