1920 KOPF Ornate Violin w/ Lions Head German. On the inside it has written in pencil "1800 Feb 9, 1920" With initials which I will try and get a picture of. Not sure if that means it was made in 1920 or if it is actually older. KOPF Made violins a long time prior to 1920. This old violin appears to be in very good shape for its age and appears ready to play (we arnt musicians to verify sound quality). The wood is nice but does have a couple faults. There is a support inside under a split in the wood. Also a small wood split on the opposing side (see photos). Has a bridge in it that was installed in recent years but also has its original bridge which Im going to call Bone in a Wooden Violin Case that looks like a tiny burial coffin with an inner box that has a Victorian Print Cover and a Bottom Paper Lining that reads " This box was request of the Crown Prince to open on his reputation to give monies worth and the Mannia to keep with the Prince in ______ in putting into this valuable presents this money _____ ______ Box with pure..... (Underlined words I couldn't make out on that)". The Violin Box is as impressive as the violin as far as antiquities go. It is all wood and finely crafted. Comes with two bows. Violin Measures 23 1/2" and the case 30 1/2" by 9 1/2" by 4 1/4"
