Description
Carol Summers (American, 1925-2016). Woodcut on paper titled "Hellespont," depicting a simplified abstract landscape, 1977. Labeled along the verso. His works are known for their soft, painterly quality with bleeding edges and jewel toned prints. He is additionally known for having trained with Louis Schanker and his works are held in the collections of the Whitney, the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and MoMA.
