Nikolai Sverchkov (1817-1898) 'The Station' - Arriving at Yamskaya station Oil on canvas Signed in cyrillic lower right 93 by 131 cm (36 1/2 x 51 1/2 in) Provenance: Sotheby's London, Russian Paintings, 25th November 2008, Lot 440. Literature: F. I. Bulgakov, Our Artists. Suggests that this painting named "The Station" , was exhibited at the Paris World Exhibition in 1863 and was sold to Napoleon III. The French Government awarded the artist for the Order of the Legion of Honour. Certificate: Grabar's Center of Restoration, Moscow.
