A large, heavy and nicely painted duck fishing lure with display stand that was probably made as a whimsy or display piece rather than an actual working lure. But it has excellent visual appeal with its graceful body, protruding glass eyes and large tin wings which serve as fins, and tin feet dangling from the underside. It measures 9 ¼” from bill to tail and at the “wings,” it is 3 ¼” wide. Excellent condition with only a few minor bumps/paint rubs on the top, and no cracks, breaks or splits. The display stand is about 4 ½” high on a 2 ½” square base. The duck was fastened to the frame with 2-sided tape. (NOTE: for purposes of shipping, the duck and stand have been separated leaving some tape residue on both the underside of the duck and the stand.) Great piece of whimsical folk art from the last quarter of the 20th century most likely!
