Circa 1880 charcoal and graphite folk art portrait on paper of a proud homesteader. He is dressed in his finest suit while tree stumps and his recently constructed cabin appear in the background. Nineteenth century frame in old black paint, Brass hanging locket at top center of frame. Found in Ohio. Approximate exterior frame dimensions are 16-1/8” X 13-7/8”. Repapered back. Condition: paper portrait has light toning. Frame has scuffs, dings and edge wear.
