Description

Antique Quilt Star Of Bethlehem 1930's, 81-1/2" x 79-1/2", Hand Quilted, 8 Point Lone Star Quilt

Presenting a cotton Star of Bethlehem or 8 Point Lone Star quilt dating from 1930's or earlier and mostly hand sewn, and ALL hand quilted with some machine stitching on binding only. Backing is white. A great country quilt.
This quilt is in good condition and as found condition. One small repair, one small oxidation spot only on backing. The batting has a medium thickness. Hand sewn as well as machine stitched edge binding. Yellowing patina discoloration on fold lines.
This quilt is reminiscent of a very grand and regal period when quilters had time to skillfully finish a quilt.
The size is a 81-1/2" x 79-1/2", with each diamond shaped piece measuring 3-3/4" in length and 1-3/4" in width.
Would look lovely on your bed, as a wall hanging, or, would make a great gift. Standard double bed is 54" wide x 78" long. Queen bed is 60" wide x 80" long. King bed is 78" wide x 82" long.
The quilt would work on a full / double sized bed and is in very good, unwashed condition.
There are hand done stitching, throughout at 6 stitches to the inch. The quilt consists of diagonal and curved quilting.
