Lin Fengmian (November 22, 1900-August 12, 1991), formerly known as Lin Fengming, was born in Meijiang District, Meizhou, Guangdong. He was a Chinese painter and educator, an enlightener of Chinese modern art and one of the pioneers of Chinese modern painting that integrates Chinese and Western art. 1. Together with Yan Wenliang, Xu Beihong and Liu Haisu, "the four principals went to study at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in France after 1918, and were influenced by the popular modern schools at that time, such as Post-Impressionism and Fauvism. In 1928, Hangzhou National Academy of Art was founded (now the China Academy of Art), served as the president and professor. During his tenure as the president of the Hangzhou National Academy of Art, Lin Fengmian, Fang Ganmin and Wu Dayu were the three famous professors of the Department of Western Painting.
