1/17/23 11:03am - In my opinion regarding: LOT – 1290: I note the clock is intact and was possibly originally a crest to a large deux corps sideboard, there is some evidence of old woodworm, slight wood losses to the edges of the foliates, a visible glue restoration to the bird’s neck, bottom right corner, and some side elements. Regarding operational status: the hour hand has been replaced at some point, and the current configuration has the minute hand running in to the hour hand and them attaching – we were not able to get the pin out to try and assess this further. The pendulum currently holds on; however, there is a board attached to the back preventing this clock from hanging at a perfect vertical and horizontal balance and therefore its’ operational status cannot be tested. The time and strike are wound as tight as they can be.
