Description

Rare French Neo-Gothic pivoting bronze chateau candle sconce. Features a classic French horseman amid trailing oak leaves and acorns. It came out of chateau in Beaujolais, France where it was mounted on the corner of 2 stone hallways. It would pivot to light each hallway. This sconce is an exceptional example of Violet le Duc's influence on Neo Gothic architecture at the time. Late 19th century. 31"h x 21 1/2"d
