French Cut Crystal and Gilt Brass Cave a Liqueur, early 20th c., with beveled cut crystal sides and top opening to a lift out tray fitted with four gilt decorated decanters and fourteen gilt decorated liqueur glasses, on relief ball feet, H.- 10 3/4 in., W.- 13 in., D.- 10 3/4 in.
Condition
The metal is heavily oxidized with corrosion and rust present throughout. The front panel does not close perfectly flush. The mirrored bottom has large areas of de-silvering across the entire surface. An upper corner of the rear crystal panel is chipped. One cup has detached from the stem and been glued. All have slight wear to the gilt paint. One with a non-conforming star pattern could be a later addition to the set.
