New Haven Watch Co. ."Popeye Watch Copyright King Features Syndicate, Inc This is the Popeye Watch with Nickle Finish. Pocket watch has colorful and detailed dial picturing many characters from the strip and Thimble Theatre Players alternating with designs of yellow triangles which surround the numerals. Popeye's die-cut arms with bold anchor designs and hands with pointing fingers tell the time while below his spread legs is a second wheel showing full figure of Wimpy chasing a hamburger accented by a tiny pair of wings as if it is flying from his grasp. There is some wear to the nickel plating on back. Dial has some minor hairline scratches. These were produced by New Haven and licensed King Syndicate, Inc , circa 1934. Between the dial marker are the Thimble Theatre Players and Wimpy is the revolving seconds disk. These were only produced 1934 Size is about 2 and 1/8" in diameter. WORKS WELL!
