Attrib Giovanni Paolo Panini, Italian Old Master (1691-1765). Oil on canvas of an architectural capriccio with ancient ruins and figures. Condition: this painting appears to have been professionally restored in the past, there is evidence of a wax relining, likely done on a hot table. The wax lining makes the picture very heavy. There are several areas of tears/damages that have been in-painted nicely, they are evident under black light inspection (see attached photos). The figures are intact, no damages or in-painting observed. Painting is stable and in relatively good-to-fair condition commensurate with age.
