West Virginia, New Mexico, France,b. 1944
Depicts two white flowers against deep green and red tones with carved detailing throughout. Gaugy was first hired by a restaurateur to make sketches of the restaurant's patrons, sending him to the Ecole des Beaux Arts for study during the day. while working this job, Gaugy met Salvador Dali who arranged for his first gallery exhibit. He continued studying art, eventually moving to the United States where he created "The Awakening."

Signed "Gaugy" lower right corner, dated, signed, and titled "2002 Gaugy Motif des Heures" on verso.
