Description
Frank Gehry (Canada, b. 1929) for Knoll "Power Play" armchair, c. 1990s, steam bent woven maple slats forming the curved back, seat and sides. Branded with Knoll logo and Gehry signature to underside and marked 1/99. Measures overall 32"H x 32"W x 29"D. Note: this chair was originally from the BASF United States headquarters in Mt. Olive, New Jersey (built in 1994). The chair was purchased by the consignor for his personal collection in 2004 when BASF relocated its operations to Florsham Park, NJ. (Consignor worked for BASF from 1996-2014). Literature: Hanks, David. New Bentwood Furniture Designs (1992), pub. Montreal Museum of Decorative Arts, pg. 60. Designed 1990.

Condition
Overall good condition. The original assembly glue has dissolved on some slats; some slats need regluing before use. Scattered minor usage scuffs. Some spatters of silver paint to underside of seat.
