Description
English or Irish Adam style painted satinwood demilune side cabinet in the manner of the workshops of William Moore of Dublin. Oak secondary. Half round top with bookmatched veneers, hand painted with floral swags and a demilune reserve with classical columns and flowers, over a conforming case having a frieze mounted with giltwood acanthus carvings and inlaid panel with painted cherubs, above two drawers painted with floral garlands having bronze pulls, and a cabinet with reeded tambour doors, flanked by hand-painted medallions of urns of flowers, framed with giltwood carvings, all raised on square tapered and carved legs. 36" H x 48" W x 20 1/2" D. 19th century. Note: This piece was originally owned by Louise Fletcher of the Fletcher family (of Indiana). Louise Fletcher became a poet and eventually the first wife of famed novelist Booth Tarkington.

Minor lifting of veneers and craquelure primarily to the top. Minor scattered paint and gilt loss, primarily to the body edges. Loss of escutcheon inlays.
