BIOGRAPHY:
Soviet graphic artist, painter, illustrator, poster artist. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.Lived in Moscow, worked as an illustrator. He was the author of a number of Soviet filmstrips for children ("Afrabinsky", "15 in the morning - 15 in the evening", "Do you know?"). He made graphic portraits of Fidel Castro, workers; as well as watercolor drawings of Soviet commanders and pioneer heroes. Ivan Sushchenko is often called a lyrical artist: indeed, most often children are depicted on his canvases. A striking example of this is the series of postcards "Children of the World" (1968).Collaborated with the Plakat publishing house; together with V. Dobrovolskiy executed the poster “1922-1972. Long live the USSR! "(1972)," Guard of the Working Class "(1982).
