BIOGRAPHY:
Born in Chicago. Became intrested in art at the age of 5 years old, when her grandmother, Ethel Cargill Jones, one of the first woman to graduate from theArt Institute of Chicago, put a brush in her hand, and allowed her to paint on a canvas.Charlene began studying oil painting with Nancy Karper. She also studied with Sharon Roman and JoAnn Richardson, and participated in numerous workshops with local artists. She began professional study for 5 years with nationally known artist, Dominic Vignola. She also studied independently the works of the great masters, in New York and Rome, Italy.She has exhibited with the Pittura Society, and has had a one person show in Oak Park, Illinois.She has participated in a juiried show at Robert DiCaprio Gallery, and been shown at galleries in the Chicago area."My goal is to put on canvas as closely as I can, the light and shadows, color and form of the object I am painting.Nothing gives me greater joy tham\n to know another person finds excitement and pleasure in a picture I've painted.
