In 1946, the circulation of the Art Magazine was limited to a few thousand copies, therefore this original ad is rather uncommon.

Van Cleef & Arpels is a French luxury jewelry company founded in 1896 by Alfred Van Cleef and his father-in-law Salomon Arpels in Paris. Their pieces often feature flowers, animals, and fairies, and have been worn by style icons such as Grace Kelly, Farah Pahlavi, Eva Peron, Elizabeth Taylor, the Duchess of Windsor and Queen Nazli of Egypt.

Van Cleef & Arpels boutiques are located in several major cities in the United States. Based on this ad, there were only two C&A boutiques in the U.S. in 1946.
