Description
A high quality antique Japanese Meiji Era covered enamel gilt metal jar. Circa: early 20th century. The sphere form jar is enameled with polychrome medallions with floral, foliage, birds and geometrical patterns made in the Cloisonne technique and inlaid with a Goldstone. A figural engraved handle on the top of the lid. The bottom of the jar is decorated with cloud and floral patterns. Mounted on three legs. The jar is adorned with a technique of using metal powders to give a glitter effect to the enamel. Unmarked.
