Description
This is a PCGS Certified silver half dollar coin minted to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the granting of the city charter of Albany, New York. On the obverse is a representation of a beaver symbolizing the lucrative fur trade upon which the city was founded. The reverse depicts the presentation of the City's charter on July 22nd, 1686, by Governor Thomas Dongan to Albany's representatives, Pieter Schuyler, the first mayor, and Robert Livingston, secretary. The coin is graded as MS66 and is accompanied by the original Commemorative Coin Holder Pamphlet.
