This is an uncirculated Carson City 1882 silver dollar. The coin comes in a plastic case labeled "CARSON CITY UNCIRCULATED SILVER DOLLAR." This is packaged in a box with a certificate detailing the history of the Carson City silver dollars. Numbered 82153873 The Carson City silver dollars were only minted from 1878-1893. An overabundance of silver dollars and the increased popularity of the paper dollars caused the Carson City Mint to close in 1893 after only a total of 24 years of business. The hoard of silver coins were discovered by a Treasury audit in 1964, after nearly a century of obscurity in the vaults. Issued by the General Services Administration (GSA).
The box is 6 1/2 x 4 1/2".

Minor dings to the corners of the box. Loss to the surface paper on the lid, top right corner. Old taped repair to the box.
