Description
A pair of Continental Neoclassical parcel gilt and paint decorated settees, circa 1800, each having an undulating crest rail, four fret carved back splats, shaped arms and raised on fluted square tapered legs, each with an upholstered cushion and back support pillow.
Dimensions:Height 38in; width 50 1/2in; depth of seat 22in.

Condition
Each settee is structurally sound. General marks, wear, rubbing and small losses throughout. Each settee with spliced repairs to stiles, legs and rail supports. Typical marks, wear, old repairs and reinforcements throughout. Retaining an older painted surface, with several layers of paint decoration beneath.
