Banded top and front, slant front revealing fitted interior, over four graduated drawers, on bracket feet, one interior document drawer inscribed in ink to side, "Mr. Whitney."

considerable sun-fading to exterior surface, the banded slant front with some splitting / cracking to veneer, interior of slant front with a long age crack; occasional patches to veneer; rubbing/loss to lip of top of slant-front; hinges to slant front re-set and/or replaced, with signs of wood patches around them; brasses and escutcheons replaced, although period appropriate; bracket feet appear to be old, although unclear about whether they are original
