American. 19th century, 1870s. Serving ladle with foliate patterning and strawberry motif, which can be attributed to the William B. Durgin Company. Laid within a purple-lined leather box with closures. ht. 7.5, wd. 2, dp. 2 inches. 51 grams.
Overall good condition. Tarnishing throughout.

Hodges was a Virginia-based dealer of fine arts, with specialization in prints and rare books, having collected for decades.
