Description
Clay bust of indigenous South American. Guck (1904-1994) spent summers in South America from the 1940s until the 1960s. We estimate this piece to be from the 1940s to early 1950s period. There are no cracks or chips noted. The bust is signed on the underside rim. The overall height is 12 1/2 inches (the sculpture is 8" tall) and is approximately 7 1/2 inches in depth. It sits on a wood block. While you will find Edna Guck's works in museums, her sculptures almost never are presented at auction. Here is your opportunity to own a very rare piece.
