(Disney, 1939) An extremely rare and large Old King Cole window display featuring Pinocchio from Walt Disney's Pinocchio. Pinocchio's right arm ishinged with armature that allowed it to be motorized to move up and down. The 62"x53"x6" hand-painted molded relief display is constructed of the company's exclusive Paper Mache' process, '"Laminite." Known mainly for displays of Mickey and the "Fab Five", Old King Cole also manufactured displays for "Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs" and "Pinocchio" before their license expired in 1942. Although we have seen a handful of "Snow White" displays, "Pinocchio" displays are extremely rare, so much so that we have only seen two small examples from the film other than the pieces offered here. This large display and its companion are the only examples of these known to exist. In surprisingly good condition, the pieces still retain their original paint, with crazing, and flaking throughout. A small portion of the point of his cap is missing from damage. Due to the size and fragility of these pieces, special shipping arrangements will be required. Please inquire before bidding.
