For your consideration here is a pair of antique spurs which are strongly attributed to being made by Irl William Terry. Irl Terry wound up taking over Mike Morales' tools after Morales left Hamleys in about 1914. Terry had apprenticed under Mike Morales and then wound up working for Hamleys from about 1914 - 1926. You can see Morales' influence in Irl Terry's work. He rarely marked his work. These are one piece, hand-forged, single mounted (appears to be sterling) inlay spurs with nice engraving. The shanks have chap guards and handmade 10 point rowels. MAKER: Unmarked but attributed to Irl Terry. APPROX AGE: Circa 1920s. SIZE: The heel opening is approx. 3-3/8 inches. The heel bands are 7/8 inches at the widest point and the shanks are 2-3/4 inches long (including the rowels). CONDITION: Good for their age, normal wear expected.
