Ancient Exhibited Greek Askos In The Shape Of A Siren
Rhodos / late 6. Century B.C. / Ceramic /
L = 15.7 cm (6 3/16 in)
Rhodian askos in the shape of a beautifull siren.
Exhibited at the Antiken Museum Basel und Sammlung Ludwig. Very well documented.
Condition: Missing parts on the lower body restored.
Provenance:
Swiss private collection Bonsera.
Purchased from Jean-David Cahn, Basel.
Before that in the private collection of the gallerist Marcel Liatowitsch, Basel.
Purchased before 2000.
