DESCRIPTION: Sevres porcelain box featuring a hand-painted image on the gilt brass hinged lid depicting courting lovers among lambs, a dog, and a farm hand. Piece is embellished on sides with hand-painted images of landscapes and adorned around all images with textured, gilt floral and foliage motifs. Finished around image on lid with green man, vase, rooster motifs and a crowned crest motif emblazoned with three fleur-de-lis motifs. Marked on underside with a Sevres "double Louis" hallmark surrounding a fleur-de-lis.
