Ecuador, small carinated bowl, incised geometric dĂĆĂŠcor, Piertal-Carchi, 600-1000 AD. Size 5 inches diameter widest point, 3 1/4 inches high. A small pottery bowl with twin handles, incised decoration. Private Washington DC collection of Thomas F Caroll. Thomas worked from the 1950s through the 1980s in International development organizations and lived in Rome and Chile as well as Washington. Donated about 400 Pre-Columbian artifacts to the Cornell University Johnson Museum of Art which he acquired during his early years in his career, Collected numerous items in the countries where he was working. Published catalog by Johnson Museum at Cornell University included a number of loaned pieces as well as his donation in its 2008 exhibit.
