Description
Gao Qifeng (1889-1933), a painter in the late Qing Dynasty, was born in Panyu County (today's Guangzhou), Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. He studied in Japan and is a member of the Alliance. He is connected with his brother Gao Jianfu and Chen Shuren in painting. His painting skills are high. He is reputed as one of the founders of "two high schools and one Chen", "three outstanding people in Lingnan", and "Lingnan School of Painting". His character is high and pure, "to carry forward the true art and lead the art world" (Xu Beihong). Painting a boat across the sea, splitting the waves to be brave. It is not a thin tombstone. "The tomb of the painting saint Gao Qifeng" (Lin Sen's calligraphy title) is the name of the "painting saint" of the Republic of China. Time flies, and the chant is rising
