Description
Color lithograph by Ilya Shenker, born 1920, a Soviet and American artist of Jewish origin. The print depicts a ball scene from Le Corsaire ballet. From a series of eight silkscreen lithographs. Signed by the artist in the lower right. Numbered 73 out of 150 in the lower left. The item was donated by Sandra Genter to the Jerome Robbins Dance Division possibly in 2013. Le Corsaire was staged by Marius Petipa and first performed in 1858 at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Graphic Art For Collectors.
