Bound in contemporary quarter maroon leather over maroon cloth boards, gilt. Amrorial bookplates of Holland House. Additional write-up from Richard C. Ramer stating that upon close examination of copies in the New York Public Library, both English and American editions used the same sheets, only the title pages differed. He judges that the the work was published in London (most likely due to British artist Frederick Catherwood, who executed the illustrations in the expedition) due to the publishing notices in each edition (the American issue only noting it was "Entered, according to Act of Congress, in the year 1841).
