Description
Thompson, Hunter S. "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" (Inscribed and Signed) RARE. (1937-2005) Immensely popular and beloved "Gonzo" journalist who rose to fame with his chronicle of the Hell's Angels and later, his serialized works in publications including Rolling Stone. His best known work is "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" published in 1971. When the book was made into what ultimately has become a cult film starring Johnny Depp, and Benecio Del Toro, Universal Pictures re-issued the book through the Modern Library in 1998 to coincide with the release. Opposite the title page, Thompson has inscribed and signed the following "To J.S. Thank you for taking good care of the Colonel--but please keep yr. goddamn toes to yourself. OK Hunter S. Thompson." To fully understand what that inscriptions means, refer to "The Severed Fingers" by Jonathan Shaw (Pages 388-395) in "Who Killed Hunter S. Thompson?" compiled by Warren Hinckle. But know the "Colonel" is Johnny Depp, Thompson's nickname for the actor.
