Signatures all Three Beautifully Presented. Collection of three authors/poets signatures.
Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr. (his son, Jr. was the celebrated Supreme Court Justice) was an American physician, poet, and polymath based in Boston. Grouped among the fireside poets, he was acclaimed by his peers as one of the best writers of the day. Beautiful signature on a calling card dated Boston, Feb. 1st, 1881 1½ x 4½" and framed to with photo 15 x 10½".
Archibald Joseph Cronin, also a physician author best known for his books about miners, his greatest triumph, "The Citadel". Extremely bold signature in red wax pencil on woven paper 9 x 6" framed to 12½ x 9½" in gilt wood frame.
Edwin Markham Popular poet of the early 20th Century, his best known work, "The Man with the Hoe" was also the author of the poem "Lincoln, the Man of the People" that was selected to be read (by Markham) at the dedication of the Lincoln Memorial with 100,000 present at the event and over two million on the radio. Markham has signed boldly a copy of the poem 8 x 9½" framed to 13 x 14½". Estimated Value $300 - 500
