Miniature Painted Six-board Chest,
America, early 19th century.
Lid opens into well on tacked leather hinges, case boards lapped and nailed, rising on carved arch feet, exterior painted dark red with yellow brushed and sponged decoration, 35cm wide, 12cm deep, 17cm high (14 1/2in wide, 5 1/4in deep, 7 1/4in high).
