Very unusual and rare, so collectible.
Subject vesta case in the form of a hound dog the dog is chained to match striker post.
In the recumbent position.
Made from Bronze.
Exceptionally well cast having such detail to the face, paws and muscles.
The dogs head lifts up to reveal inner compartment to store your matches.
A really good size 14cm in length and 6.5cm high.
It weights just over 400 grams unwrapped weight.
Circa 19th century.
Provenance bought from a fine art and antiques auction label attached.

Having charming noticeable patina wear, stains, scuffs, scratches, commensurate with usage & old age. The lid is a slightly loose though fully functional.
