Civil War US Model 1840, German Made Artillery Saber. Single edged, highly curved fullered blade. 1.1/4" width at ricasso. Maker marked "FW 48" stamped on the spine near the guard. Various Crown proof marks. Brass hilt, D-guard, leather wrapped grip with twisted wire. No scabbard. Blade Length: 31.5" | Total Length: 37"

Condition

Very good. Dark spots and small nicks on the blade.
